Addy Turns Two ~ Let's Go To The Zoo!!

I really cannot believe that Addy is now 2 years old! Really, where did the time go? Addy had multiple birthday celebrations. She had one at her playgroup which I forgot to take the camera to (I did take the camcorder but I will not even attempt to add a video clip at this point in my blogging infancy). When the kids sang Happy Birthday to her, she sang right along too. It was adorable. And she blew out BOTH of her candles BY HERSELF! Yes, I'm proud.

Even though Addy's birthday is on May 23rd, we decided to celebrate her birthday the weekend after Memorial Day weekend. I was attending my nephew's wedding on her actual birthday so we postponed her birthday celebrations about a week. We kept the birthday celebrations small with just family and it was perfect. My sister, her husband and their 3 boys stayed with us the weekend and we started the festivities off at the National Zoo. Addy's Gran'dad and Gran'mama Fitz also joined. Grandma Gurr came over after the Zoo. Addy and the boys had a blast! Check out some of these super cool animals:

Here are some pics of the whole gang enjoying the day at the Zoo:

We then headed back home to eat a LION cake!

Here's Addy checking out the cake:

And, here she is blowing out the candles:

If you've ever see JoJo's Circus on Disney (it comes on at 6am during the week and yes you will be up that early if you have kids), you'd probably notice that the Lion looks very similar to Goliath the Lion. Did I mention that Addy's proud parents made the Lion cake at 11pm the night before? Homemade frosting...no pattern...we have pictures to prove it!

Most of the credit for that genius cake goes to my wonderful husband who is much more creative then myself!

The day concluded with much playing! Happy Birthday Addy!!

Thanks! And, it was so much fun too. I think we'll have to make this a tradition!
